Cyacomb Safety white paper

6,000-word white paper about preventing child sexual abuse content being shared in encrypted environments while maintaining user privacy.

Cyacomb was launching their new online safety software (Cyacomb Safety) to block known child sexual abuse materials (CSAM) being shared on encrypted messaging and social media platforms. With all the political and press attention, they asked me to leverage their key messages, their company purpose and passion to create a 6,000-word informal white paper to set out why their tech could have ground-breaking impacts for the industry. I worked with the CEO and marketing team to understand the tech, challenges, opposition and key audiences.

The subject is sensitive, technology is complex and there’s strong opposition from privacy advocates. The paper aims to establish the facts, dispel the myths, explain the technology and address the naysayers.

Working with Cyacomb’s tone of voice and writing style, I developed copy to ensure the different target audiences understood the complex technology without dumbing things down too much, maintaining appeal to the tech industry and novices.

"I think it works really well. I like the boldness of some of the statements. This is a comprehensive draft and there is a nice balance of fact and subtle promotion which also works well. "
